Quid Control

Dj Yoda is one of my main influences when it comes to djing, and while i might not have his technical ability and deck wizardry skills, i do try and infuse my live sets with a sense of humour, something that definately comes from listening to his 'Jewbonics' and 'Cut and Paste' mixtapes in me yoof. He also holds my personal award for 'dj-that-makes-me-do-the-stupidest-things' after pouring beer over my own head in a very hot Sankeys many moons ago during one of his sets. Sorry if you happened to be there, i blame the double vodka Leffes.

The picture above is from Yoda's performance with the Heritage Orchestra a few years ago, something i would loved to have seen and am gutted i didn't, especially after witnessing first hand Elbow's amazing orchestral collaboration last week for the Manchester International Festival.

This track is ace and a real pleasure of a find among the racks...perfect Hip Hop. Reminds me of old times being at Uni in Sheffield, good to see the steel city get a mention from People Under The Stairs too.
